Thornybush Game Reserve is an 11,500 ha private game reserve situated near Hoedspruit, in the Limpopo Province of South Africa. Located to the west of the Timbavati Game Reserve and the Kruger Park, Thornybush Game Reserve offers outstanding game viewing with some 147 mammals including the "Big Five" (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo and rhino), 114 reptiles, 507 birds, 49 fish, 34 amphibians and 336 trees species.

There are a number of private lodge accommodation venues within the Thornybush Game Reserve which cater for guests’ every need. Game drives are in open Land Rover type vehicles and walks in the bush afford guests really
close-up game sightings with wonderful photographic opportunities.

Guests are able to drive themselves to Thornybush, some six hours from Johannesburg, or they can choose to fly into the nearby Eastgate Airport at Hoedspruit. Transfers to your chosen lodge can be arranged for the short drive to the Thornybush Game Reserve.
